Exceptional collection of four consecutive date silver pesos from the Treasury hoard that was dumped in Caballo bay by US Navy personnel as Japanese forces approached the capital in Manila. The coins were in canvas bags inside wooden crates, but these deteriorated over time. Throughout the duration of the occupation, the Japanese conscripted captured American divers to search for the coins and bring them to the surface. NGC has certified that these coins are from the war salvage operations either during or closely after the conflict by returning US Forces. An historic addition to any collection!
