These tokens remain of unknown origin, with roughly 450 die varieties known of roughly 1,100 total examples. The late Sydney F. Martin’s collection was the most thoroughly catalogued collection of these curious colonial era coppers. The obverse features King David playing the harp and the legend FLOREAT REX (May the King Flourish). The reverse has St Patrick in ecclesial garb and the legend QUIESCAT PLEBS (May the People Be at Peace)
