1795 “Washington the firm friend to peace”, “Grate (fireplace)” type London Conder 1/2 Penny, Large Buttons, Lettered Edge type, PCGS MS-64 BN - while technically a British merchant conder token, this piece has entered the accepted corpus of early Washingtonia/Americana, even to the point of being included in the Red Book of US Coins despite its London origins. And indeed, for George Washington to be honored in Great Britain within his lifetime is quite interesting. Also very importantly, this specific example is Mint State / Uncirculated and among some of the finest examples known.
